Q: What is drumming team building?

A: The formal answer? OK…. Drumming team building is an engaging and interactive activity that utilises drums and percussion instruments to cultivate teamwork, communication and collaboration among participants. It involves rhythmic exercises, drumming performances and group activities aimed at enhancing cooperation, coordination and unity within a team - and it’s a lot of fun! We’ve been delivering team building events for almost two decades now - every experiences is unique and it works every time - thankfully! ;)

Q: How does drumming team building work?

A: We provide a brief introduction to the instruments and basic drumming techniques. Then it’s the rhythms, beats, and synchronising together. We guide the group through various exercises and activities that encourage communication, active listening skills and teamwork. The beginning simple rhythms evolve to more complex compositions performed as a group - it’s an outstanding transformation!

Q: What are the benefits of drumming team building?

A: Can I just says it’s awesome fun!? No? OK… drumming team building promotes effective communication and active listening as each person must pay attention to each other's rhythms and adjust their playing accordingly. It fosters teamwork and collaboration by requiring coordination and synchronisation among your team members. And as you might imagine, drumming can be an effective stress reliever, boosting morale and overall well-being - we’re playing drums after all! It also encourages creativity and self-expression.

Q: Who can participate in drumming team building?

A: Everyone - irrespective of musical experience. It can be tailored to accommodate different group sizes, from small teams to large organisations. Anyone looking to enhance teamwork, communication and cohesion within their company or team can benefit from drumming team building.

Q: How long does a drumming team building session typically last?

A: Normally around 1 to 1.5 hours, though we have short ice-breaker options, half and full day experiences. In some cases, drumming team building events can be incorporated into multi-day retreats or conferences and full day corporate wellness experiences.

Q: Do we need any musical experience to participate in drumming team building?

A: No prior musical experience is required to participate in drumming team building. The activities and exercises are designed to be accessible to all participants, regardless of their musical background. We focus is on collaboration, rhythm, and teamwork, rather than individual musical proficiency - it’s about everyone working together. The success is the whole working together towards one common goal.

Q: Can drumming team building be conducted virtually or online?

A: We specifically offer real-life, in person, live events. It’s what we do and what we love.

Q: What equipment is needed for drumming team building?

A: We will bring all the drums and percussion instruments required. For team building events of up to 60 people a chair each is great, and an empty room is best for 60+ people.

Q: What kind of room or space is needed for drumming team building?

A: This depends on the group sizes and nature of your event. For up to around 50 people the ideal room will just have enough chairs for each participant (50 people, 50 chairs) and the space be big enough for a horseshoe/circle of the group. The chairs are not critical though useful especially for smaller groups. For larger 50-200+ the ideal space is an empty space where we can organise the group and move fairly freely. That said, if you have theatre style seating or Cabaret then we have and will work with that too.

Logistics - we will ideally load in and set up in good time. Our facilitators are detail oriented, so the room will look inspiring for your group as they arrive. If we can’t access the room prior there are a number of ways we can prepare for an efficient setup.

Q: What are some examples of drumming team building activities?

A: Well, we can’t say too much here as to not spoil the surprise! We have a unique way of delivering drumming team building experiences. The beginning will be a mish-mash cacophony, and that’s OK because through a style of delivery crafted over years we will guide and shape you into drumming performance band we’d be proud to show at the Royal Albert Hall!

Q: Can drumming team building have long-term effects on a team's dynamics?

A: Indeed, we have clients from 18+ years ago still messaging us about how incredible the experiences was! This is an experiences to remember for a lifetime. Team members develop a profound sense of unity, improved communication and enhanced cooperation, fostering stronger relationships, increased trust and a more cohesive and productive team in the long run - DrummingTeam Building! :)
